The Los Angeles-Eschscholtzia Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR), was organized in Los Angeles in 1894, as the Eschscholtzia Chapter, NSDAR, and was the second chapter in the state of California. Eschscholtzia derives its name from the California state flower, Golden Poppy – scientific name, Eschscholtzia Californica.

The Los Angeles Chapter, NSDAR, was organized on December 6, 1911, by a group of Eschscholtzia Chapter, NSDAR, members who believed that their chapter had grown very large and wanted to establish a new chapter for more effective participation. In the fall of 2004, it was proposed that the Los Angeles Chapter, NSDAR, and Eschscholtzia Chapter, NSDAR, once again merge. Today the chapter has over 140 members and is listed as the second chapter in the state of California.

We are a diverse and welcoming group of women. Our chapter holds meetings that include formal teas, as well as more casual evening socials. Our annual fundraiser, Oktoberfest, is not to be missed!

We alternate our meetings between the second Wednesday of the month at noon and the second Saturday of the month at 10 a.m. We will be holding all meetings virtually until further notice.

If you are interested in joining our chapter or attending a meeting or social, please contact our Chapter Regent.
